Beauty brand NYX has had enough of everyone pronouncing its name wrong and has decided it’s time to end the age old debate. The American cosmetics company has been around for nearly 25 years, yet still, many don’t know how to pronounce the brand's name.
NYX Professional Makeup is a subsidiary of L'Oréal and was founded in Los Angeles by Toni Ko in 1999. Although it was named after Nyx, the Greek goddess of the night, make-up users still debate what they think is the correct pronunciation. The beauty brand tweeted: “It’s pronounced “NIX” not N-Y-X or NIKES.” Those who have been saying it the right way all these years finally felt a sense of vindication.
Ciara replied to the tweet saying: “thank you for clearing up the confusion, I’ll reference this tweet if anyone tries to argue about it.” Another user said: “I’m sending this to my mom lol.
