Now, Sonia Friedman will produce Jule Styne’s and Bob Merrill’s musical, which features hit songs such as “Don’t Rain On My Parade” and “People,” and Michael Mayer will direct.Mayer previously staged another revival of “Funny Girl,” also produced by Friedman, in London’s West End in 2016 starring Sheridan Smith, but it got a mixed response from critics.
