The One Show's Lauren Laverne had to interrupt the programme briefly to offer an apology when Sally Phillips unexpectedly used expletives during the live broadcast. The actress was on the popular chat show with a host of celebrity guests, including her co-star Ben Miller, as they discussed their latest BBC sitcom, Austin, featuring Michael Theo from Love on the Spectrum.

But not long into their chat, Sally accidentally used a swear word before the 9 pm watershed. Giving praise to co-star Michael, Sally began with: "He is such a nice person and he had such a thing about feeling that autism was only very narrowly represented on TV so he wanted to reflect that and we consulted him all the way along." She went on: "He was so great, so truthful and adorable", reports the Express. Then addressing Ben, she mentioned: "We did have a word with each other earlier on..." However, the conversation took an unexpected swerve as Sally inadvertently let loose a curse: "And said 'Oh s***'," she continued, "'He is really good.

We are going to have to raise our game'." Laverne promptly acknowledged the mishap and apologised, saying: "Now I think speaking of language, and the love of language, we should just apologise for any fruity language.

Sorry." Co-host Alex was visibly taken aback, questioning: "Was it me?!" The studio erupted into laughter as Lauren reassured her it wasn't.
