BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans' brother speaks out amid tour 'axe' weeks after death tragedy

Wynne Evans' brother has spoken out in defence of the Strictly Come Dancing star amid reports he is not longer part of the hit dance show's current UK tour.

The opera singer has recently been touring the country as part of the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2025 after competing in the BBC One dance contest with professional dancer Katya Jones last year.

The string of live arena shows, set to take place until February 9, kicked off earlier this month but it wasn't until over the weekend that the Mail on Sunday reported that Wynne was heard making the remark to a woman in a video filmed during the launch event for the show on January 16.

Following the reports, Wynne said in a statement: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise." A spokesman for the Strictly live tour and BBC Studios, meanwhile, added: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints.
