BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans says 'unfortunately' as they issue Katya Jones update

As fans of the BBC One dance contest know, Opera singer Wynne and his professional dance partner Katya were partnered during the 2024 run of the hit show.
After impressing the judges for the first half of the competition, the pair had to bounce back during when they headed to Blackpool for the hit dance show's annual special in the world-famous Tower Ballroom having found themselves saved from elimination the previous weekend after landing in the bottom two with Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.
Their Blackpool appearance saw Wynne finish their Charleston routine by swinging his dance partner by her feet. But it wasn't enough to see them through and they lost their place in the Strictly's 20th-anniversary series just a mere few weeks before the grand final, which eventually saw Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell crowned champions.
