Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden took to Instagram with a heartfelt update after her "heartbreaking" bid farewell to the show due to a leg injury.The 34-year-old dance pro, who had previously taken a break because of her battles with cancer and Crohn’s disease, returned to huge acclaim this season, only to be forced out of this year's competition through injury.This meant her dance partner from JLS, JB Gill, had to pair up with professional dancer Lauren Oakley instead.
While it was a tough blow for Caerphilly-born Amy, she took to social media with some positive news that she just had to share with her fans.
A delighted Amy said: "(I've) come home to some pretty awesome mail that has put the biggest smile on my face and cheered me up massively. "And that is that I got my date to go to the palace to get my MBE.
It still doesn't feel real, but yeah, I got my date so now I need to plan my outfit and I've told who I'm taking with me. "But mostly it's something to look forward to after what's been – and I'm not going to lie – a rubbish two weeks.
