Strictly Come Dancing fans said they were 'sobbing' before Dianne Buswell even stepped on the dance floor as Tess Daly briefly halted the show for a special reason.

It's not very often the dance show's co-host talks to the audience but she made an exception as Dianne's parents Rina and Mark were in the audience to watch their daughter perform live in the ballroom for the first time since she joined the BBC One dance contest seven years ago.

The couple have jetted over from Australia to see their daughter perform with her celebrity dance partner Chris McCausland after the dancing couple set a 'goal' of making it through to week ten of the competition so Dianne's dream moment could come to life. She then let Mark do the honours of introducing Dianne and Chris to the floor with their Paso Doble to El Gato Montes by Manuel Panella.
