The BBC has announced that tonight's episode of MasterChef: The Professionals will go ahead as planned on BBC One, despite the recent controversy surrounding the show.
Gregg Wallace, who recently stepped back from his role on the popular BBC cooking series amid an external review into historical allegations of misconduct, has been accused of making "inappropriate sexual jokes" and other behavioural complaints.
His lawyer has firmly stated: "It is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature" With the uncertainty caused by these events, MasterChef fans have been questioning whether the show would continue to air, especially with Wallace featuring in pre-recorded episodes.
However, during a news update on BBC Radio 4 this evening, listeners were informed: "The BBC has confirmed tonight's episode of MasterChef will still be shown on BBC One." The BBC's website also confirms that episode 16 of the 17th series of MasterChef: The Professionals is scheduled for broadcast at 9pm on BBC One, teasing viewers with a synopsis that says: "It's the semi-finals.The past five weeks have seen the chefs whittled down to the best eight.
