When you think of soaps you think Fair City, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and of course, EastEnders. But it looks like we could be adding another soap to our nightly rotation.
BBC is reportedly looking to create a new soap that will rival Corrie and Emmerdale. In a bid to move the channel outside of London, it’s reported that these new shows could be set in the north of England.
Bosses have said they are planning to launch ‘two new network long-running dramas’ in documents outlining the next six years.
Although it’s not known if these ‘dramas’ are set to be a new soap or a continuing drama like Casualty or Holby City. The first series is set to be located in the north of England, according to the BBC.
