A new BBC documentary, fronted by journalist Layla Wright, is set to delve into the world of far-right politics in America. The programme, titled America's New Female Right, will introduce viewers to the female content creators who are spreading far-right ideologies across social media platforms.

Layla, a protege of renowned documentarian Louis Theroux, explores why these women are rejecting progressive politics and the surprising following they have garnered through their campaigns.

This comes after the rise of the 'tradwife' movement in 2020, where women, self-identifying as traditional wives, openly discussed their firm belief in gender roles and marriages.

These individuals choose to adopt a homemaker identity, leaving their careers to cater to their family's needs at home. The official synopsis reads: "Against the backdrop of the presidential election, 27-year-old British journalist Layla Wright travels from her hometown in Liverpool to the US, to meet a new wave of women using social media platforms and podcasts to champion extreme views on social media, including content that is increasingly shocking and, surprisingly, anti-feminist. "From Nashville to the Arizona/Mexico border, Layla will immerse herself with the ultra-conservative influencers who see themselves as on the frontline of a war against progressive politics", reports the Mirror. "She will attempt to understand exactly what is driving young women, including some close to her own age and others as young as 16 years old, to advocate for a movement that is looking to roll back the clock on hard-earned rights."
