BBC's highest-paid stars revealed - as vast salaries of Zoe Ball, Greg James and Gary Lineker released
ok.co.ukThe BBC has unveiled the pay packets of its top stars for the last financial year, with Gary Lineker holding onto the top spot for the seventh consecutive year.The Match Of The Day host, 63, is the only star to earn over a million pounds, taking home a cool £1.35million.
Radio 2 breakfast DJ Zoe Ball followed closely behind, earning £950,000 and becoming the highest-paid radio star. New faces on the list include Radio 2 host Vernon Kay, who replaced Ken Bruce in 2023.
He earns £320,000 from the BBC, almost 20% less than what Ken earned the previous year.The list also includes famous faces no longer at the BBC, as it covers the financial year from April 2023 until April 2024.This means Steve Wright, who passed away in February, is included, as is Huw Edwards, who left the BBC in April after being off air since July last year.
It's believed Huw was off work on full pay, meaning he would have earned £475,000 in his last year at the corporation. However, several big BBC stars are missing from the list, including Michael McIntyre, Paddy McGuinness and Claudia Winkleman.This is because the salaries of stars paid via production companies, including those who receive payments through BBC Studios, are not published.
