Clive Myrie has spoken about how the Russia-Ukraine war is "on a different scale" to anything he's seen before in his 30 years of reporting.
The conflict in the Eastern European country has prompted an outpouring of support and donations from celebrities and even royalty, with Kate Middleton making a rare political statement in support of Ukraine.
Clive appeared on The One Show on Monday 14 March, soon after returning home from two weeks of reporting live from Kyiv, which has been continuously bombarded since the beginning of the conflict. "I've been a reporter for 30 odd years, and I've covered conflicts such as the Rohingya, and most recently in Yemen and Bangladesh, with the Rohingya issue there.
But this is a war on a different scale, because it involves two very different armies with the very latest kit and the very latest weapons for destroying people and destroying lives and wiping places off the map," he said. "And when you've got two armies going at each other like that there's going to be a lot of damage."
