BBC Radio 6 Music has announced its new daytime schedule, which is set to be implemented later this year.This morning (January 9), Lauren Laverne took to BBC Radio 6 Music to announce that she would be stepping down from hosting the Breakfast Show, which airs weekdays between 7:30am and 10:30am.
She had been in the role for six years, and will be replaced by presenter Nick Grimshaw.In the announcement, Laverne also confirmed that, while she will no longer be hosting the Breakfast Show, she will be returning to the station mid-mornings to present a new weekday programme.
This new slot will see her carry over her much-loved regular features, including People’s Playlist and Desert Island Disco. Live sessions will also be featured in the new slot.Laverne’s new mid-morning show and Grimshaw’s hosting of the Breakfast Show will both commence in February.
Nemone will present the Breakfast Show in the interim, beginning next Monday (January 13).Speaking on the show this morning, Laverne recalled the battles she faced last year.
