After a remarkable journey lasting 26 years, the iconic BBC news presenter Mishal Husain has confirmed she's stepping down.The seasoned broadcaster, who initially joined the BBC in 1998, has spent over a decade steering the Today programme and has been at the forefront hosting the Today Debate.
Beyond radio, her dynamic career includes chairing the recent political face-offs during the BBC UK general election debates and previously delivering the news on BBC World News.
Sharing her reasons for departing, Mishal expressed: "My time at the BBC has involved many memorable moments, going to places I would never otherwise have seen, witnessing history and being part of live, national conversation on Radio 4." She added, "I will always be grateful for the opportunities the BBC gave me, and wish the organisation and everyone who is part of it the very best." Mishal began her BBC career as a producer in 1998 before becoming a presenter on BBC News, she joined the Today programme in 2013.
For her next role, Mishal is joining Bloomberg in early 2025 to host a new interview series and be editor-at-large of its Weekend Edition.
