The young man at the centre of the scandal involving BBC presenter Huw Edwards has broken his silence, revealing details about their relationship. The man, now 21, but just a teenager and highly vulnerable at the time, alleges that Edwards asked him for explicit photos and messages, taking advantage of him.
Speaking to the Mirror, he expressed his desire for the truth to come out. He said: "I want to tell the truth about what happened...
I've stayed silent for so long to protect Huw, but I feel sick at what has happened." Choosing to stay anonymous, he described feeling as though he was "groomed" by Edwards, who is now 62.The scandal came to light last summer after it was claimed by the young man's mother and stepfather that Edwards had paid £35,000 for inappropriate images of him.
Initially, Edwards' identity was kept under wraps, but it was soon disclosed by his wife and he was admitted to hospital due to serious mental health concerns.
