The Gavin and Stacey Christmas special airing on BBC will explore Nessa's "chequered life" according to co-creator of the show James Corden.
The popular BBC sitcom is returning for what's thought to be the last ever episode. It's been five years since viewers watched the 2019 special that ended on a cliff-hanger when Nessa proposed to an unexpecting Smithy.
Fans have grown to love Nessa's celebrity anecdotes, whether that's nannying for Richard and Judy, or when she was the fifth member of All Saints but got kicked out the group after a falling out with Shaznay.
But, it isn't until this Christmas special that we'll finally get to know the real Nessa. In the sitcom, Mathew Horne and Joanna Page play lovers Gavin and Stacey, Alison Steadman is Gavin’s mother Pam, Larry Lamb is his father Mick, Melanie Walters portrays Stacey’s widowed mother Gwen, and Rob Brydon plays her Uncle Bryn.
