EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has opened up on the "difficult time" she faced following the death of her beloved co-star June Brown.
late actress June played BBC soap favourite Dot Cotton since 1985 up until 2020.Natalie first appeared on the soap as Sonia Fowler in 1993, with the London-born actress at the forefront of the cast during the emotional storyline of her on-screen grandmother Dot's funeral.
It comes as June sadly died in real life at the age of 95 in April 2022. “It was very, very difficult for me because obviously I’ve lost a dear friend,” Cassidy told the Mirror.“She taught me a lot and we had a lot of laughs over the years.
When she was 82 years old she’d be partying in a nightclub, and she was just so amazing.” Natalie said there was “a lot resting on my shoulders” during the funeral scenes, but thinks she did her “proud”.June was somewhat of an icon to fans of the BBC soap, known for her Christian faith, hypochondria, and cigarette addiction.
