In recent scenes, Phil Mitchell discovered Karen's involvement in a kidnapping plot, which could spell trouble for both Karen and her son, Keanu – who fans think could be the Christmas murder victim.
Unbeknown to Sharon, Karen and Keanu were behind the kidnapping of Albie, who was then taken to be with her brother-in-law. Sharon then received a ransom note demanding money for Albie's return.
Phil stepped in to provide the funds, leading to Albie's safe return. However, Monday's episode, 4 December, revealed that Phil now knows about Karen's deception after she used some of the ransom money to pay Kat Slater for damages caused by Mitch.
