Yet while he appeared to have been able to take the revelation in his stride, one truth that may break the famed boxer completely is the news that his adoptive parents had been paid to take him in.
Earlier this week, George’s parents Gloria and Eddie arrived in Albert Square where they revealed the truth behind his adoption and explained that he had been “farmed” out by his biological family and handed to white parents to raise him.
Blindsided by the news, George tentatively managed to hold it together as he processed the news with a heart-to-heart with his mum, but a further bombshell would later follow when it was revealed on Thursday’s episode that George was actually of African descent, not Jamaican as he had always believed.
