BBC has announced that Suranne Jones will be joining the cast of the forthcoming romantic series, Film Club, alongside Happy Valley's Adam Long, Kaos actor Nabhaan Rizwaan, and Three Girls star Liv Hill.

This six-part drama marks the screenwriting debut of Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood and House of the Dragon actor Ralph Davis.

Film Club is a clever and heartfelt series exploring themes of love and family, the dilemma between following our hearts or minds, and the complexities of falling in love with a friend.

The plot centres around Evie (played by Wood), who hasn't ventured outside her home in six months due to a "wobble". She hosts a weekly film club in her garage, where her best friend Noa (Rizwan) joins her for an evening of diversion.
