Sally Nugent was left in stitches on BBC Breakfast as her co-host Jon Kay opened up about death of his pet rabbit.The pair fronted the show on Tuesday, 26 March together, and discussed the day's newspaper headlines.
Sally, 52, and Jon, 54, were discussing a story about pet retailers banning the sale of rabbits over the Easter period due to a rise in purchases during the holiday, with owners unable to keep the pets for life.
Many rabbits are often left abandoned despite shops insisting the animals are 'for life'. As they discussed the topic, Sally quizzed Jon over his own pets.
She quipped: "I bet you had a bunny as a kid." Jon admitted he did have a beloved rabbit as a child, who was called Hazel. Sally jokingly asked her co-host if his bunny was "for life" as the conversation took a morbid turn.
