BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood looked unrecognisable in glam new snaps from the eighties that were unearthed for the show.The show on 13 February, presented by Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson, featured a segment on the 1980's, as the presenters asked viewers to send in their photographs from the iconic decade, whist also showing off snaps of the BBC Breakfast team from the era.

Sally, 51, said: "This morning on Breakfast we want to see your 80s pictures and hear your 1980s stories because we've got some of our own haven't we Ben?" As numerous pictures were shown on screen, the presenters asked the viewers if they could guess who they were of.

A snap flashed up of a young woman staring coyly at the camera, with her hair pulled back from her face by a red headband. She looked radiant, with a slick of gloss on her lips, pearl earrings in her ears and a thin gold chain round her neck.

As the picture flashed up, Sally said: "Ahh I think I know who that beauty is...shall we show everybody?" as Ben added: "Love that headband." A more recent picture of weatherwoman Carol, 60, then came up alongside the eighties pic, as Sally gushed over her colleague, saying: "It's our gorgeous Carol...she looks exactly the same." Ben agreed, saying: "She hasn't changed one bit." Another picture showed a little blonde boy with a bowl cut, cuddling a cat that was revealed to be Ben, 41, as he said: "Look at that carpet, look at the TV, that's my gran's cat Lucy." Then it was Sally's turn, as a picture of a denim dress-wearing dark-haired girl came up on-screen.
