The BBC has announced the return of Autumnwatch, following a public outcry over its cancellation last year. The popular seasonal programme is set to make a comeback with three special episodes featuring former host Chris Packham.
Fans will be pleased to discover that Autumnwatch will be broadcast on The One Show on Tuesday, 29, Wednesday, 30, and a Halloween-themed edition on Thursday, 31 October 2024, live from Wytham Woods in Oxford.
On the subject of its return, Chris commented: "Autumn is one of the most magical phases in our seasonal calendar. It may feel like things are shutting down but far from it.
It's a time for nature to recycle and prepare." The host added: "Those rich autumn colours are a sign of nature at its very best and I'm excited to be telling the stories of the season in one of my favourite woodlands in the UK." Chris will be closely following the lives of badgers that live within Wytham Woods, using extensive technologies such as the thermal cameras to track their every move and seasonal diet changes.
