BBC announces there will be no EastEnders for two months - but some specials will air

EastEnders has confirmed that it will be airing a set of special episodes before the soap looks set to go off air until September.

The Walford-based soap will be taking a break as the pre-filmed episodes run out in weeks, with filming due to resume at the end of this month.

However, fans will be able to get a glimpse behind the scenes on Secrets From The Square on Mondays from the 22nd June. Meanwhile, on Tuesday nights viewers will get the chance to relive some iconic EastEnders episodes - from Max and Stacey's affair reveal to 'Divorce Papers'.

Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey Dooley will be hosting the Monday night episodes and will sit down in Ian Beale's restaurant, Walford East, with to different members of the cast.
