Barry Robson is under serious consideration to land the Aberdeen job on a permanent basis. The U18s boss has been put in charge of the first team until the Pittodrie board decide on their next appointment.
The Aberdeen hierarchy have been inundated with applicants for their vacant post, with candidates boasting Premier League, English Championship, Scottish Premiership and even international experience.
And they have already started to narrow down their search. Early favourite Chris Wilder won’t be among the names despite initial talks with the former Middlesbrough and Sheffield United boss.
Interim boss Robson has always been non-committal when asked whether he would be keen on the job in his own right. Chairman Dave Cormack and his fellow directors, however, have been impressed with the way Robson has held the fort since Jim Goodwin was sacked.
