Barry Ferguson has blasted Giorgos Giakoumakis after the Greek claimed his ‘dangerous’ Alloa players tried to boot Celtic out the Scottish Cup.
Former Rangers skipper Ferguson has been angered by the suggestion that his third tier part-timers resorted to hammer thrower tactics in Saturday’s clash at the Indodrill - which saw three of Ange Postecoglou’s starting line-up taken off with injuries including skipper Callum McGregor.
Giakoumakis insisted Ferguson’s minnows went ‘over the top’ in an attempt to inflict harm on Postecoglou’s players throughout a tousy, hard fought Fourth Round tie.
But, speaking exclusively to Record Sport , Ferguson insists it’s the Celtic striker who has crossed a line. He said: “It’s absolute nonsense for him or anyone else to suggest I had a game plan to go out and hurt Celtic’s players.
