Bank of Dave millionaire was 'instantly grounded' by wife's blunt Simon Cowell comment

Dave Fishwick, the inspiration behind two Netflix films and portrayed by none other than Bond actor Rory Kinnear, stays grounded thanks to his wife.

The 'Bank of Dave' icon told Lancashire Live how his partner of 30 years, Nicky, ensures his feet stay firmly on the ground.

He shared, "We have been together over 30 years and I was down yesterday on television and then I was with Netflix and I met half a dozen people from the telly. "I come home and said to Nicky, 'I've met Simon Cowell or I've met this guy or that lady' or somebody mega famous off the telly. "And she will say, 'never mind all that nonsense, Dave, do you want corned beef hash or cottage pie for your tea?' And it grounds you immediately." With plans to give away 90% of their wealth posthumously, Dave, a father and grandfather, made a statement by arriving at his movie premiere, promoting Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger, in a humble minibus.

Battling inclement weather, Dave, clad in wellies, cleared the snow himself, saying, "I think I am the only person in the world to go to a premier in a bus with my wellies on and shovel.", reports Bristol Live.
