BAFTA Says Security Removed Prankster Who Gatecrashed ‘Oppenheimer’ Best Film Speech

BAFTA has said it is taking “very seriously” a security breach in which a prankster gatecrashed the Oppenheimer best film speech.

A YouTuber joined Christopher Nolan and the Oppenheimer team up on stage at the Royal Festival Hall as they accepted one of the night’s biggest prizes.

He was stood at the back wearing a hat. A BAFTA spokesperson said: “A social media prankster was removed by security last night after joining the winners of the final award on stage – we are taking this very seriously, and don’t wish to grant him any publicity by commenting further.” BAFTA did not name the individual.

He is yet to post about the prank on YouTube or TikTok, but has got form when it comes to crashing major awards ceremonies. The interloper made his way up on to the stage as Oppenheimer producer Emma Thomas urged cast members to join them, saying: “Where are you?
