2022 was a banner year for Babyface Ray, and for Detroit hip-hop in general. He opened it with FACE last January and closed it with MOB in December, doubling down on the style he’s been perfecting for years as the world finally began to catch up.
Last week, he defied the leakers by officially releasing “Ron Artest,” a track that’s been floating in the online ether since 2020.
And today (February 14), he’s announced a spring 2023 tour of the United States. The “Courtesy of the Mob Tour,” featuring special guest Veeze (a fellow Detroit native and longtime collaborator of Ray’s), will kick off on April 6 at the Ace of Spades in Sacramento, California and take a circuitous counter-clockwise route across the country, stopping in 25 cities by the time the two rappers arrive home to play The Fillmore Detroit on May 13.
