A baby tragically passed away in Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital just weeks after his first birthday earlier this month.
Layton Holdcroft, just 12 months old, sadly died on June 8. He had been admitted to the hospital on June 6, having been transferred from Royal Blackburn Hospital earlier on the same day, an inquest opening heard this morning (June 29).
Area coroner Zak Golombeck confirmed that Layton suffered a trio of medical issues in the days leading up to his death. They were septic shock, breathing difficulties, and a fever.
