A baby abandoned in a park will go into foster care if his mother fails to come forward, police have said. Named by hospital staff caring for him as 'George', due to being found the day before St George's Day, the tot was left on The Mound in Shannon Road, King's Norton, last Thursday evening.
Detective Inspector Neil Hunt, of West Midlands Police's Public Protection Unit, has now said Birmingham Children's Trust has obtained an interim care order for the baby.
It comes as investigators renewed their appeal to the child's mum, reiterating she is "not in any trouble", reports BirminghamLive.
