Baby dies at home after being found not breathing as cops launch probe

A baby has tragically been found dead at a property after it was discovered not to be breathing. Emergency services raced to Bonscale Crescent in Middleton, on the outskirts of Manchester, shortly after 2pm on Sunday, June 30.A cordon was put in place as the air ambulance also landed on a grassed area of the street next to a row of shops.

Sadly, the tot could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.Police in the area have launched an investigation into the tragedy and officers remain outside the address a day on from the incident, the Manchester Evening News reports.The force has released no further details on the child at this stage.A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 2.05pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024, officers were called to reports of a baby not breathing at an address on Bonscale Crescent in Middleton.They added: "Sadly, a one-year-old child was pronounced deceased at the scene despite the best efforts of the emergency services.
