Ayrshire youth football team shows big hearts to boost morale of troops serving abroad

Soldiers serving overseas have been boosted by a fantastic shipment of goodies... all thanks to an Ayrshire youth football team.Whitletts Vics 2010s have been doing their bit for those serving abroad - by donating shoeboxes filled with a variety of items to put a smile on soldiers' faces.

We realise that this is a very tough and emotional time for families. So we decided that, as we’ve been shown so much support, we would like to give something back.“We came together to donate shoe boxes filled with toiletries, sweets, activities and some personal favourites etc to hopefully lift morale to the men and women who are currently serving.“The boys, parents and grandparents got involved too.

We have also had two donations; an ex-service man has donated 10 boxes, along with David Tait, (Repair Gas) who also donated 10 boxes.”In total, 57 shoe boxes were filled and made their way to the 2 Scots (Alpha Company)
