Ayrshire Lads pledge to unite for one last hurrah on Gaiety stage

It is the unique story of a county which has taken on the UK's main talent shows and pretty much conquered the lot. When it comes to talented musicians, Ayrshire has proven it can punch well above its weight on the big stage.

Whether it be the X Factor, Britain's Got Talent or The Voice, this corner of the country has produced an act fitting of the bill.And in 'The Ayrshire Lads,' a wildly popular show has been born which, for the last two years, has played to sell-out audiences at Ayr's Gaiety Theatre, celebrating the very best of the region's success stories down the years.

There's X Factor legends The MacDonald Brothers, Britain's Got Talent winner Jai McDowall, The Voice star Jeremy Levif, and teen rising star Blair Gilmour (The Voice Kids) highlighting the area's rich run during the last two decades.Theatre producer Edd Holloway has a canny eye for the opportunity and moulded 'The Ayrshire Lads' into a show which is now ready to play the Gaiety for the last time in 2024.

The 'lads' insist it's a farewell as a grouping which will be bittersweet, coming at a time when their respective careers all enjoy huge upward trajectory.Brian MacDonald told the Ayrshire Post: "Our big problem is getting us all together in the same place at the same time - it's a huge challenge!
