Ayrshire’s three councils have been preparing for the impacts of Storm Éowyn with a number of services stood down in anticipation of severe weather.
A rare red weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Friday, January 24, as the storm is forecast to bring winds as high 100mph along the Ayrshire coast.
The warning is in place between 10am and 5pm.Ayrshire Live have rounded up the latest developments ahead of the storm’s arrival tomorrow morning.
All schools in the area will be closed. East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire and North Ayrshire Council have all taken the decision with the safety of pupils and staff in mind.
