An Ayrshire amateur boxing club savoured success at the Boxing Scotland Development Championships.Irvine Elite Boxing Club sent four boxers to the event which was held over two weekends at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell earlier this month.And they came back with two golds and a silver after a string of top performances by the quartet.Lee Gibson fought four times throughout the fortnight to win gold in the 57kg category.He won his opening two contests against Jayden Sanjaree from McTaggart Scott BC and Kanyon Muchira from Perth BC by way of first round stoppages to reach the semi-finals.There he defeated Rehan Farid from Duries BC by unanimous decision to set up a final showdown against Peter Kryger of Wellmeadow BC.And after a toe-to-toe battle, Lee won by split decision after Kryger was given a standing eight count in the second round.Max Strain brought more gold glory to the club by winning the 54kg category.
