Ayrshire beauty salon crowned the best in the west for second year running

An Irvine salon was crowned the regional winner for the west of Scotland in the Beauty Salon of the Year category at the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards 2023.Meraki Therapies by Shannen took the top prize at the prestigious event.The ceremony took place on December 10 and was hosted by freelance sports presenter and broadcaster David Tanner at The Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow.

Around 400 people attended the ceremony organised by Oceanic Events, to celebrate the hair and beauty professionals that operate in the country.Meraki Therapies by Shannen, located at Caledonian House at 100 High Street, won the award for the second time in a row, following their success in 2022.

Salon owner and therapist, Shannen, said: "I honestly don't think I'm over the shock of it yet, my wife Leanne screamed for me before I even heard my name being announced."Having won last year which I also didn't expect, I just didn't imagine I would win it again."The award night was so much fun, nerve-wracking, but fun.

It's lovely to be at an event that recognises the hard work within our industry and to be sat in a room with so many talented business owners is wonderful."Shannen, 30, worked at Caledonian House building for six years now but decided to branch out on her own with Meraki Therapies by Shannen two years ago.She now offers a mix of beauty and holistic treatments and is best known for her massage packages.
