New recruit David Bangala says Ayr United fans shouldn't be fooled by his smile - because they're getting a WARRIOR on the pitch. The Frenchman last night penned a two-year deal to become Lee Bullen's second summer signing at Somerset Park. And the defensive midfielder is promising to quickly win over fans with his all action style.Bangala, 24, was born in the Democratic Reupblic of Congo before coming through the Le Havre youth system in France. But personal tragedy struck when he lost both parents in his teens - leading Bangala to help raise his sister. But he's revealed how a standout performance for local side Gonfreville of France's sixth tier turned his career around.

Bangala told the Ayrshire Post: "In life you have problems, but you always have to stay positive."Football has taught me that with what I have been through."I was at Le Havre for six years and then the things happened with my family."I was playing for my local club Gonfreville when we came up against Lille in the French Cup."It was an amazing game for me and I played very well.

I think it got me noticed."After that I got my move to Pohronie who play in the top league in Slovakia."Bangala comes to Somerset earmarked for a holding midfield role, but has the capacity to play as both a centre half and at right back.He said: "I love fight.

I am a positive guy and very happy but on the park I am a warrior."The pitch is a warzone for me - a good kind of warzone but we battle for our team."This move is one more step in my career and I am so happy to be here."It's a great opportunity for me.
