A new lawsuit accuses Guns ‘N Roses singer Axl Rose of sexual assault and battery over an alleged attack in a Manhattan hotel suite in 1989.
Sheila Kennedy‘s suit claims she “suffered severe emotional, physical, financial and psychological distress” when Rose (real name William Bailey) “used his fame, status, and power as a celebrity and performer in the music industry to gain access to manipulate, control, and violently sexually assault” her.
The case was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which provides a one-year window for sexual assault plaintiffs to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations.
That window closes on Thursday. In the 10-page complaint filed Wednesday in New York Supreme Court (read it here), the plaintiff — an actress and model who was the 1983 Penthouse Pet of the Year — says she met Rose Kennedy in early February 1989 at a New York nightclub.
