A family have been left devastated after their beloved pet cat was killed in a vicious dog attack. Flash, a tabby cat, was pounced on by a dog in Gainsborough, Lincs, on Monday night.

People living in the street have claimed the dog, which is thought to be black with a white patch on its head, was encouraged to attack Flash during the incident.

The aftermath of the attack, which was witnessed by an eight-year-old boy, has left Flash's family heartbroken, Lincolnshire Live reports.
