I don’t wait for the muse to arrive. Which is not to say that I don’t procrastinate and faff. I do a lot of that, but I’ve come to accept that it’s part of my process.
Generally, I’ll do the school run, go to the gym and then get to my desk, and I stay there until Georgie gets home. When I’m approaching the very end of the book, it gets more intense.I grew up in London and lived there until I was 40, and I still have a lot of friends there.
