Wolfe, a Tony winner for “Angels in America: Millennium Approaches” and “Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk,” is directing the show, which returns to the stage in the fall. “Gypsy” features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by the late Stephen Sondheim.
Camille A. Brown will choreograph the musical. Considered one of the greatest musicals, “Gypsy” tells the story of an ambitious stage mom’s unflinching efforts to propel her two daughters into show business.
