Selena Kuznikov Camille Vasquez, one of the attorneys who worked for Johnny Depp during his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, has joined the Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP Business Trial practice group.
Also joining the practice are four other lawyers who worked on the trial: Leo Presiado, Andrew C. Crawford, Jessica N. Meyers and Samuel A.
Moniz. Vasquez and her team won over $10 million in compensatory damages on behalf of Depp in the suit. The attorney focuses her practice on brand reputation and defamation litigation, and previously worked as a legal analyst at NBC News.
All five attorneys were previously partners at Brown Rudnick, where Vasquez co-chaired the brand and reputation management group. “In addition to the firm’s top-notch litigation practice, we were attracted to the firm’s global footprint, full-service platform and its culture of collaboration,” Vasquez said of the team’s transition. “We look forward to building on the firm’s already successful litigation capabilities and offering a deeper and wider bench to clients throughout the country.” Vasquez and her team are currently handling brand reputation and defamation cases, including representing producers of musical film “The Deb” in a suit filed against Rebel Wilson for defamation in L.A.
