One day after the sudden and surprising death of Philadelphia-based rapper Chynna Rogers, her cause of death has been revealed as an accidental overdose.The Philadelphia Department of Public Health confirmed the cause of death on Thursday (via The Philadelphia Inquirer) though no further specifics were given.The rapper passed away at just 25 years of age, and was found unresponsive in her home in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Authorities are revealing rapper Chynna Rogers died of an accidental overdose. In a statement to E! News, a spokesperson for the Philadelphia Department of Health stated the cause of death for Chynna Rogers was determined to be an accidental drug overdose.  The rapper had previously struggled with drug addiction, but said she had been sober since 2017.

In 2016, she battled with opioid addiction and seemingly won, marking three months of sobriety with her cloudy EP, Ninety; the following year, her mother, Wendy Payne, passed away at 51. She had lost many friends—including her mentor, A$AP Yams—before that.
