Arsenal from Real Madrid and the Norwegian international has been linked with making the move permanent this summer. However, Gunners legend Nigel Winterburn has warned that Arsenal's chances of signing the 22-year-old are contingent on the future of manager Mikel Arteta.
Odegaard has been regular game time by Arteta, something he was not afforded at Madrid, and Winterburn believes the playmaker "wouldn't want to sign for a different manager".
Speaking to Goal, Winterburn said: "It will come down to what Real Madrid will want to do and whether he wants to stay there because he might not get the game time he wants. "Arsenal would be in prime position; he's been here he knows what the club is like.
