But Wolves' lead was short-lived as summer signing Gabriel Magalhaes fired back for the Gunners just three minutes later on the half hour mark.
Podence restored Wolves' lead moments before half time after latching onto a loose ball in the Gunners area following a save from Bernd Leno.
