Arsenal are ready to offer David Luiz a new one year extension - but it could be on reduced terms. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to keep the 33-year-old centre half for next season as his current deal expires on June 30.
Luiz’s agent Kia Joorabchian has said there is a “very high chance” the Brazilian will stay at the Emirates and that comes after talks on a new contract.
Luiz joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer for £8m on a contract worth £130,000-a-week which was for one year with a 12 month option.
But since then there has been a huge squeeze on money at the Emirates because of the coronavirus. It could mean that Arsenal offer Luiz a deal based more on appearances and incentives to try and reach a compromise with all parties
