Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour says he cannot understand why manager Mikel Arteta continues to keep faith in his centre-back David Luiz.
Luiz put in a dreadful performance during his side's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday, conceding a penalty and getting sent off as well as being at fault for the opening goal.
Arteta continued to defend the player following the game, however, and insists he wants the 33-year-old to stay at the club despite speculation linking him with a move, with his contract set to expire later this month.
Speaking to , Parlour stated his opinion that it would be a mistake to keep Luiz at the Emirates. "His age is well against him," Parlour said. "It depends on what sort of money he wants.
