Arrest after man with meat cleaver threatens Post Office staff
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA man has been arrested after a terrifying armed attempted robbery at a Post Office in Bolton. The incident happened inside the Spar shop on Black Horse Street in the Blackrod area on Wednesday morning (July 26).
The suspect burst into the shop armed with a meat cleaver, police said. He demanded cash from the terrified staff inside. He fled the scene and nothing was taken. In an update issued last night, police said a 38-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
He was taken into custody for questioning. A post on the GMP Bolton Facebook page last night said: "#ARREST Officers from the Bolton West & Bolton North neighbourhood teams have arrested a 38 year old male this evening (29/07/23) in #Blackrod.
