Armed police surrounded a street after a man was shot in the leg. Officers were called to Simonswood Lane in Kirkby at around 8.55pm on Monday, September 30 to reports of the shooting.
A man in his 60s was shot in the leg in what police initially believe to be a targeted attack. He was taken to hospital where he is currently described as being in a stable condition.
A 41-year-old man from Kirkby has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He has been taken to a police station for questioning.
